25th July final evening match results - Watford Lodge‏

A full field of anglers took to the bank for the last of this year’s evening matches.

Most managed to catch but easily the best angler on the day was Paul Bacon jnr who fished a very tidy match from peg two.

Catching an early, quality tench under the cover of a nearby tree he then followed the fish out to 5 meters and continued to steadily catch, fishing shallow with maggot and sloppy ground bait.

1st Paul Bacon jnr 6lb 10oz maggot, shallow
2nd Graham Howe 3lb 15oz pinkie 4m whip
3rd Tony Horton 2lb 7oz maggot, shallow
4th Chris Simpson 2lb 6oz red maggot over pellet

This was the Club’s final evening match of the year and I'd like to thank all who have fished and supported the Club in what has been a very successful and enjoyable series of matches.

I'd also like to take this moment to encourage any other anglers who didn’t fish this year getting involved and competing in next summer’s competition.

This isn't a club for the super serious match angler but it is a great club for the angler that wants to get out on the bank, enjoy an evenings fishing, meet new people, learn from others and have fun.

A great place to start is this year’s annual Fur and Feather, to be held on the 12th October, with more and more interest being generated in this event a larger venue is required which will be announced shortly.

For any info on match fishing please contact Chris Simpson on 01663 734220

With a growing head of match men and so much work being done on lots of club waters, the calendar for next year is already looking to be a good one.

Tightlines

Chris
