Watford Lodge 26th October match results

With Autumn arriving on the back of hurricane Gonazalo weather conditions have drastically changed with a subsequent effect on the local fishing. Clear water and leaves everywhere dictated changes to the usual tactics and Ben Fowler was the first angler to benefit.

Targeting small silvers with punch bread, Ben caught 5lb 2oz of roach and a solitary chub to claim his first DNMAC win. Well done Ben keep it up!

DNMAC 2014 Fur 'n' Feather

This year’s annual Disley and New Mills AC Fur and Feather was held at the impressive Birch House Fisheries just outside of Ashbourne on Horseshoe lake, which is very popular with its large stocking density of primarily small carp and silver fish.
As with last year the weather was shocking, but, the match was still a sell out with 32 brave anglers all with the anticipation of a good days sport and the banter that goes hand in hand with club match fishing.
This was a match of two halves, for some fishing was frantic right from the start but then faded off as the match progressed, for others it was very slow early on but the fish eventually showed to those who waited.

Chris Simpson was one of these anglers who struggled at the start, with a bite less first hour, but finished strong with good quality fish on meat and caster fished at 6 meters and then some bonus large carp down the edge on dead maggot claiming victory with over 45lb of fish.
1st Chris Simpson 45lb 12oz
2nd Paul Greenlees 34lb
3rd Paul Bacon 31lb
Section Wins
Andy Bailey 20lb 9oz
Steve Rowe 30lb 12oz
Mick Berry 10lb 12oz
Keith Riley 30lb 7oz
James Maynard 20lb 4oz
After the match there was a warming bowl of chilli to accompany the presentations.

Thanks again to Simpsons Tackle for sponsorship the event and ensuring that everybody came away with a prize.
Next year’s match is booked for Saturday 10th October at border fisheries near Crewe a cracking venue with a brilliant cafĂ©, booking is essential.
Thanks again for all who helped on the day and see you next year.

Disley Dam 28th September match results‏

Following the spring stocking on the dam earlier this year the summer's sport has been fantastic with pleasure anglers catching plenty of fish. The small carp we recently introduced, have really piled on weight and have also stirred the older resident fish into heavy feeding. Perch have been coming out by the dozen and the large bream have been showing in numbers.

With all the above in mind there was high expectations for this match but, frustratingly, it just didn't happen. Fish could be seen all over the lake but sport was exceptional hard.

The winner on the day was Matt Robinson with a single fish weighting 8lb caught on the method feeder from peg 16 on the train bank.

1st Matt Robinson 8lb
2nd Darren Blaydon 6lb

Makes you wonder if fish know when it's a Sunday???
