Riverfly Monitoring project

One of our members, Andrew Griffiths, is setting up a Riverfly Monitoring project on the Rivers Goyt and Sett. Riverfly Monitoring samples the fly life at a selected site of the river on a monthly basis, and checks for any sudden changes that may indicate signs of pollution. Riverfly monitors are trained in Environment Agency standard techniques, and the results are fed into a national database.
